DeMedal keys Greyhounds past Reynolds

Spencer DeMedal ran and passed the Wilmington High football team to a 21-7 victory at Reynolds on Friday night.
DeMedal rushed for 94 yards on 18 carries and connected on 6 of 17 pass attempts for 153 yards in the Greyhounds’ 21-7 District 10, Region 1-A victory at Reynolds.
Wilmington is now 2-2 in the region, 4-2 overall, while the Raiders slipped to 0-4, 1-5.
Kyle Slicker added 58 yards rushing on 10 carries.
Jack Patton caught two passes for 112 yards for the Greyhounds.
DeMedal and Patton had interceptions for the winners and Cameron Marett added a fumble recovery. Spencer DeRosa blocked a field goal and Slicker added 11/2 sacks.
Patton opened the scoring with a 64-yard reception from DeMedal and DeMedal gave Wilmington all the points it would ultimately need with a 67-yard TD run. The ‘Hounds’ final score came on a 48-yard pass from DeMedal to Patton. Jacob Winters tacked on all three point-after kicks.
Wilmington hosts Hickory on Friday night.
