The Wilmington High football team was on fire Friday night.
The Greyhounds jumped out to an early lead and never looked back in a 49-6 nonregion rout of visiting West Middlesex at Greyhound Stadium.
Wilmington is now 2-0, while the Big Reds slipped to 0-2.
The Greyhounds led 21-0 after one quarter and 42-0 at the half, kicking in the mercy rule for the remainder of the game.
Wilmington opened its scoring with a 4-yard run by Spencer DeMedal.
Bryson Verrelli joined the scoring column with a 19-yard touchdown pass from Reese Bender.
Cameron Marett accounted for the next score with a 4-yard run, followed by Jack Patton with a 1-yard run.
DeMedal then returned an interception 94 yards, followed by his own 42-yard run.
Nathan Shaw provided the final touchdown for the victors with a 53-yard run. Jacob Winters added all the point-after kicks.
The ‘Hounds travel to Lakeview next Friday night.
